All right. It's getting ridiculous now. People are beginning to jump ship as if everything at Regal is an actual train wreck. At last count there are four managers planning on leaving if they get a position at Rave. That's four of our eight. Two things cross my mind there. One, that is unfair to those of us who are still at Regal. Either Rich and I will have to work 60+ hours a week or we will have to give the managers we have left hours ... some of which don't want more than two days. Number two, three or four weeks is not a long enough incubation period for Rich before deciding you don't want to work under him. I recognize that he isn't Jeff, but no one that came in was going to be. Leaving because of little things that irritated you is just not professional ... at least not this early in the game. Talking to him about said issues is the way to get by them, not saying "screw this" and jumping over to Rave. I realize everyone wants to cuddle with Jeff again but sometimes you have to calm down and give it a moment. I've been through this GM change before. Jeff came in and started changing a few things and we were all thinking, "WHAT IS GOING ON? I'M QUITTING IF ONE MORE THING CHANGES" but most of us stayed a while (and I'm still there). This mass exodus is happening too soon and too close together to even be fair. I realize you're "looking out for number one" but holding out a week or two for us to find a filler would be courteous since you know many people are applying over there -- all of which will be getting jobs on one level or another. I'm so much angry as frustrated that it is happening so soon after Jeff left and also in such quick succession. The gauge can barely have a reading at this point and people are just shaking their heads and running. Did we not have a good time? Is this all for naught? There is not a ton of work load at Regal, there is not too much being asked of you. You should give it a chance before changing your job ... three weeks isn't long enough for that.

This kind of surprises me. It surprises me because at Starbucks we have such and ownership of things that we are more likely to force the jackass out of the situation then give up what we enjoy. Jumping ship is common though. Stastically you loose 80% of your staff when you become a manager. I waiting a long time before I made major changes. I'm still no Abe... but at least they didnt all jump out at once. Maybe you should talk to Rich about the jumpage of the shipage. We had a meeting when Sahle took over Alexandria Commons and we talked about what was seriously a problem and what was petty and our own personal problems. Not liking someone as a person, well sometimes you do have to deal with that as part of your job. Not liking what someone does because it is a policy or stanard override... thats different. Relationship building... make them want to stay with you. And explain advancements available for them if there are any. I could go on for days but i'm sure you are tired of reading this.... I wish you luck. Change is always difficult and I am proud of you for sticking it out and realizing that its rough but you dont need to jump overboard to resolve the issues.
