So I taught today and ...

I liked it a lot.

It was so much fun talking about certain things and their eyes just lit up when I mentioned certain past lessons that they could relate to. I also tried to relate everything to them or talked about stuff that interested them. One thing that really interested them and made them squirm was when I discussed what being "drawn and quartered" meant. Oh yes.

For those that don't know what "drawn and quartered" means, it isn't used anymore but involves taking 4 horses, tying each limb to a horse and sending the horses off in 4 different directions. This causes the person to be "quartered" or ripped into 4 pieces. It's quite gruesome but the kids love it.

It was fun, though. I didn't have as much silence as Mr. Polaski usually has but I was alright with that. I believe they were learning and a little side discussion is OK in my opinion.

I have a different thought than he does on the state of these kids. He thinks there is no hope for them ... I think you just need to make it interesting so they'll remember it better. I had the kids stand up, act out what we've read ... get involved. I think they seemed interested and they definitely walked away talking about what they learned. I hope I got through to them.

Mr. P asked me if I wanted to teach on Monday too but I have a lot of classwork I'm going to need to do next week so I'm going to let him do the teaching and I'll observe and get this crap done. :: shakes head ::

Fun week though. I was nervous in two separate cases and in each case, it worked out.

Inventory was done last night ... 120 bucks over. I have no idea why. Not a single clue. Jeff said, "it is what it is" so evidently he knows or doesn't care. An overage is definitely better than a shortage. That's for sure.

St. Patrick's Day was yesterday. I have no Irish in me so I don't believe I need to celebrate it. "Oh, blimey, let's all get drunk on a single day ... that's what St. Patrick would want." Yep.

Anyway, I believe I've said enough for the 20 "fans" that come through here in a single day. Have a good day.

I'm so glad everything worked out. What's even better is that you seem to enjoy what you are going to be doing for the rest of your life =).

Told ya you were getting nervous over nothing =D

I knew, I knew, at three o'clock in the morning, in Alaska- as soon as I read that the kids liked what you had to say, that it would be gory!

Hey, you look like a Roman in your knew picture- haven't made your horse a senator or anything have you?
