I'm a bit irritated right now. Not as much as previously but something at work today has left me less than pleased. Renee and I are closing up doing our normal routines and everything is fine. A group of gentlemen (I use the term loosely) came in and proceeded to horse around kicking a water bottle around. Renee scolded them although that is like a cat telling the dog to let it free from it's mouth. Anyway, so they were playing with this water bottle and it went up on our ledge and did not come back down. In one of their great ideas, they decided to climb up and get it. On the way back down, they managed to wreck part of our wall by stripping the plaster and making the metal joint bend off of its proper location. It looked horrible.
Matt O and I managed to bend it back in place so it only lacks the plaster now but I had to call Jeff about it (he did not answer) and I proceeded to talk to Rich about a proper course of action. We told the group to leave, which I was thinking was the right course of action but had it confirmed by Rich. In any case, the rest of the evening ran smoothly without the group.
I should hasten to say that I don't blame the entire group for the destruction of Regal's property, however had the horseplay been stopped when asked, it would not have happened. The, "Jeff does it with us" line does not work. It doesn't matter what you guys do when Jeff is around ... he isn't around on Thursday nights and Renee and I are.
That's another thing that bothers me -- I realize Renee isn't the most amazing manager ever but she is still a manager. People show her 0 respect. I joke around with her and with other managers about her and other employees about her ... this is true. However, I am also a manager and she even laughs about it when she's around. The same does not go for the other employees who talk back to her, disregard her requests, or question her judgment. Granted, not all of her judgment calls are perfect or even close but they're still her judgments to make until someone corrects said actions. She is a manager and should be listened to just as if Jeff was saying it ... besides she makes more money than me so she must be more valuable (yes I'm still bitter about that).
I'm just a tad bit irritated in case people didn't pick up on that by me directly saying it or offering reasons. It's clear that people cannot handle the responsibility of being in a public building after hours. Clearly that is too much to ask for people to NOT destroy property whether intentional or not. Again, not all are to blame but the whole group was involved in the initial horseplay, which lead to the unfortunate event.
Moving along, I saw Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (the Regal event did not make the movie). It was pretty good. I laughed frequently ... however not from much that Jim Carrey said. I think he's becoming overrated in his roles of a film. He could easily be himself and be funny but they force him to be otherwise and it doesn't work out. The film survived on a good story and good acting all-around. I dunno ... it was good, just go see it.
Well I'm done complaining for the evening. I had better hit the hay since I can expect a call from Jeff bright and early in the morning yelling at me for what other people did. :: sighs :: Night everyone.

When those "gentlemen" come back and start justifying their thuggery with the phrase "Jeff does it with us," you might try announcing loudly, preferably over the public address system, that "we know Jeff does it with you, he let's all his boyfriends go wild- it's his favorite turn-on!"
Oh well, just a venomous thought.
