Thanks to all who offered suggestions for me to try. I haven't gotten to test any of them but I'm sure they'll all be quality. Just for other information -- I'm partial to piano although I do like other instruments as well (partial to piano being because I used to play piano).
Throughout the course of the day my sore throat has increased. What sore throat you ask? Well, if it was 12 hours ago, I'd be asking the same thing. I had none this morning and it slowly just came upon me over the course of the day. I'm supposed to blame Chris M. according to Amanda but I'm still hopeful that it's just an allergy of sorts and it caused my throat to be raw. I guess I'll find out in a day or so.
My professor has yet to contact me about making up my test. I really hope he lets me do so or I could be in trouble. I don't really know why he wouldn't let me since I know I'm not the only student ever to miss a test but at the same time I'm nervous for the result. I will have to drop the class if I can't make it up and I'm actually doing fairly well in this class.
I've set the date to write my paper for Wednesday. John sent me the manager schedule (via e-mail ... very high tech of him) and I see that I have off on Wednesday. As a result, that is my day of reckoning. That really doesn't mean what I want it to mean but I just wanted to say that. That's my day for writing the paper. I was going to do it tonight but I'm so worn out with this "illness" and studying for 2 tests that I just don't have an interest in writing tonight (except in my blog of course).
For those that are interested, I may put a link for my paper when I'm done with it for those that are frequent visitors and would want to tell me what they think. I won't include the cover page if I do this so you can get right to the meat and potatoes -- my paper.
Today at work wasn't bad. I had Amanda work box, I did little to nothing, Megan and David worked concession and Reshan pretended to do work. Pretty uneventful day although it was a bit busier than expected. I didn't get anything accomplished from Jeff's list but I did get the crown club table put away. (ok, Jason did that ...)
I have consumed more water today than I think I have ever consumed. Obviously this isn't true (oh really, Chuck? Yes, I'm serious) but the ice cold water feels good on the throat. I think I've had at least 16 cups (the measurement, not glasses) of water so I'm all set for today. I've also turned into Gretchen having to pee 2 times already and feeling a 3rd time coming along. OK, so it wasn't in a five minute interval but still ... more than usual for me (At this point, Gretchen is gritting her teeth and plotting my execution).
Last night at work wasn't too bad either. It was somewhat busy ... we had 1000 people at night (aproximately). We didn't have to push crown club anymore so that was a bonus and this new combo appears to be surprisingly successful thus far. I think the new candy choice is just better than the old choice. For those that do not know what a combo is ... lucky you.
Oh, I failed to mention that Jeff called me to yell at me about what the auditor "nailed us" on. I told him that I didn't want to hear it because he checked stuff too. It was just dumb but we got it straightened out and he's going to call Ed (our DM) to complain about her. She took a case of cups that were to be shipped back to Perkins and so now we have to pay for the cups since she went to throw them out. Jeff wasn't too happy about that. It's funny when he's motivated to do something. Unfortunately those times are becoming few and far between :-[
Have you ever hated and liked someone at the same time? Not "like" as in, "oh baby" but "like" as in, "yeah, they're OK." I guess this is why business should not be mixed with pleasure. We've had a problem this past weekend with multiple employees not showing up. Now as people, they are fine, but as workers I sometimes question how much longer they will survive at Regal. That's all I think I'll say on that but tsk tsk to them. I do give props to Amanda for coming to work despite her injury while another worker failed to do so for an injury of her own. I do not know the extent of the latter's injury but sprained ankle is a tough one to work under. Good job to Amanda for fighting through it. (take pictures, print this, whatever you want -- it isn't every day that I praise Amanda ;-) )
Well I think I am all done for today. One other thing though ... Michelle came to visit me at work on Saturday night. Actually, she came to see a movie but I'm going to pretend her motivation was to come see me. It was good seeing her and I think I'm going to call her to talk since she is not online as much as I'd like :-( (I'm an internet addict so me using the phone is a big thing).
When I said one more thing, I meant two. I don't think I mentioned that I went to West Chester yesterday during the day. Gretchen and I ventured down to visit Tyler. Come to think of it, I probably did say something about it but anyway -- he seems pretty cool and Gretchen likes him so it's a good thing thus far. Gretchen's xanga will have more up to date information on that if you're curious at all and if not ... sorry to bother you.
I'm all done now with boring you. Have a pleasant evening and oh MAN do I hope I can make up that test.

Please be mindful that allergies don't ususally cause sore throats. And since you are drinking so much water, I suspect you may have a fever. Be watchful for strep throat, por favor. (Pardon me it's the EMT thing.)
I don't know if you take requests, but I personally, would love to see you write sometime (_after your paper is done_) about what led a man of your tender years to take such an interest in both teaching and in history. Also which episodes of history are most intrguing to you?
I expect that you'll be too busy to post very much until your paper is done and your test is made up. But for those of us concerned please at leqst make at least some vaugue entries to let us know that you haven't been hospitalized to have your tonsils out.
Oh, and both liking and disliking someone at the same time is a sign of profound mental disturbance, or at least of being a more or less normal human being.
Good luck with the paper, the test, the illness and remember to look out for bears when taking out the trash.
chuck. youre a crazy mofo
