Good Post Charles. Friendship is one of my central philosophic concerns, and always has been. One thing I've discovered is that the word "friend" is highly overused. One uses it to describe a fun filled drinking buddy who would, without a single objection or comment, allow one to descend into dissipation and destruction. We also use it, albeit with less comfort, for the rare individual who also without a single objection or comment would lay down their own life so that someone they love might live.
