Wow, it is going to be a beautiful day today and tomorrow. Tomorrow -- high of 73!! WOW! I'm going to love that more than anything ever. OK, maybe that's not true but I'm going to love it. Today the high will be around 66, which is quite nice as well.

Today I had a "mock interview" (I was not actually interviewed, just participated in group discussion). I'm very glad they had this so I could see how an interview proceeded. It looked very relaxed, they gave no immediate feedback (which is good in my opinion), and the questions were not as challenging as I originally anticipated. I guess it's always better to overestimate than to underestimate and be unprepared. The content question they asked was related to current events and the Pope's recent passing. The question focused on how we would relate it to our class. It seemed pretty straight-forward and simple if you think about it before answering.

So what's on the agenda for today? Well, I have one more class today and then I have Sin City tonight at 7:40 or so. You're all welcome to come but if too many show up, I'll have to ... do something that I don't know yet.

I'm actually in the computer lab right now after the interview. I'm the best dressed here as you might expect. It is college after all. During the presentation today, I was surprised to hear what some people dressed like to an interview. It just shocked me that some guys would wear jeans and a polo shirt and expect that to be OK. NOPE! You're not getting hired without showing that you want the job. Teaching has a dress code and you must show that at all times. I do regret that I did not dress up more for my observations I went through in my freshman and sophomore year. I have now potentially burned those bridges as potential teaching positions since they will remember me and my dressing in normal attire. Oops :-(

As Fred will probably say, "hey, you could always teach in Alaska!" I'm not quite sure if I'm ready for a move of that caliber but it is in the back of my mind just the same. It's not like anyone here would miss me anyway ;-)

I suppose I'm finished for now, people keep coming in to the lab and I should probably try to do some classwork anyway .......... naaaaaaaaah.

Bye!

You could indeed teach in Alaska, what's more the proper attire includes rubber boots (Xtra Tuf brand only,) Carhart overalls, plaid shirt and baseball cap. Plus if you smell like fish because of your after hours activities, no one will find it remarkable.

As a matter of fact, this is suitable attire for Church.
