I teach on Friday! I'm excited although I don't know if my lesson will work. I'm going to write up a lesson plan tonight and show it to my co-op tomorrow so I can find out what he thinks of my "finished product." He's never tried what I'm going to try with these students. I'm planning on having a sort of roleplay to accompany reading the chapter. For back story, these students cannot read very well so I am having them read Chapter 4 in class where I can help them and I'll know they read it. I am then going to call people up periodically to act out what they just read. I'm not sure how it's going to work. One other idea I had was to draw what they are doing on the board. A third idea is to just have them read and I'll talk about it making sure they understand what will be on the homework.
The co-op does the third one usually so that's my backup plan in an attempt to be different than he is. We'll see how it goes.
In other news, my birthday will be here in July. It's a perfect time for you to sign up here for your free IPOD. All you have to do is sign up, get a credit card, and use it ONCE so they know you have it and it's activated. At this point, I'll be one step closer to my goal. I only need 4 people to do it and I'll get my Ipod for free. FREE!! Isn't that a really cheap gift? Use a credit card once, I'm one step closer. You have time but I think you should think about that. Alternatively you can sign up for columbiahouse.com or some other choice ... there are plenty of cheap or free options. Just a thought. You COULD spend money on me ... or you could do this :: grins ::
I don't even want to buy an IPOD so don't go buying me one ... I just think getting a free one would be cool since it would cost no one money. Hehe.
Alrighty, umm ... so the past few days of this teaching thing has made me realize I'm in the right field. I don't know if I could teach in this school where there is little reward for your efforts. The kids don't want to learn so teaching them is pointless almost. The philosophy there is "fail quietly." I don't like it but my teacher says there is little that can be done about it. I would bribe them with candy but I don't know if I'll have enough money to be doing that all the time. We'll see how it goes though when I actually get out and teach. I have time.
Summer is fastly approaching too! I have papers to do and summaries to write and such but so far I just don't want to! AHH!!! I'll get it done, I always do ... the papers I can't write yet because they haven't been assigned and we really don't know what we're doing yet either. I'll get there eventually. I got my papers back for my Methods class finally. I'm going to correct them and get them back to her so I can get all A's instead of some A's and some B's. Good plan? I think so.
I don't even know what I've written above. I dazed out and it all wiped from my mind. I don't think that's normal but it happened. I have this urge to buy DVDs but that could get dangerous. Hmm ... ah well. :: buys DVDs :: KIDDING! I do really want The Incredibles on DVD though but columbia house doesn't have them and I don't want to buy any that won't go towards my "requirement" just yet. Afterwards, SURE! We'll see.
I hear the Senate has passed digging in the refuge of Alaska for oil. I do not know of these "modern techniques" for digging oil but I do hope it does not disturb nature up there. It is too beautiful to be played with. It is for this reason that I am "undecided" on whether this is a good move or not. We may need oil but there isn't THAT much up there to really relieve the pressure on our oil demands.
Alright, that's all I have for now. Have a good one!
