Not One Damn Dime
Those who know me can guess my position on this boycott. I don't really see what it will do beside hurt small businesses (big business won't really feel it at all). Aside from all that, I also don't think it will be wide scale enough to do anything anyway. I understand people are upset but attempting to hurt our economy to send a message is not the way to do it.
After every presidential election, there have always been dissenters. In more than one case, there has been a little less than half the country against the election ... I say aim towards the next 4 years and try again. Especially since Bush is done after this term, I see no reason to think negatively if you dislike him. Go make sure you win next time. That's my thought anyway. I just don't think this is an effective means of protest anymore (Boston Tea Party being one big boycott, took most of the country to be effective ... this will not be taking on that magnitude).
Moving on, I work tonight.
I saw a clip of Whose Line is it Anyways that had Richard Simmons and it was pretty darn funny. The crowd and Drew were in an uproar. Quite funny.
I was reflecting on my first day of college today. Sitting in the classroom a bit scared, not sure what to expect. My teacher walked in with hair tied back and standing very rigidly. She said good morning, handed out notecards for our information and walked out. She came back in with her hair down and wild and was acting completely differently. We learned why she did all this and the entire time I was like, "OMG OMG OMG." After class I told her it was my first class and she laughed saying, "oh no, I can only imagine the thoughts going through your mind now." Haha, if only she knew. Now in my senior year, I've relaxed quite a bit and the people in my area of expertise have become my "classmates" much like your class was in high school. Very interesting how we mold into our surroundings as needed unless we make an effort to resist it.
Welp, that's all for now. I'm off to work. Have a good one.
