Work today was interesting to say the least. I spent 90% of the time (a low estimate) at the popcorn machine trying to get it to work. The agitator was broken by a certain someone who I must remember to thank later. In any case, the popcorn machine was not spinning (it is supposed to spin the corn and mix all the ingredients). I got a paperclip initially to try to get it to spin. I then got a chinese food handle (those metal ones from the pints of food you get) and I proceeded to fix it more. Jason came down and offered support and found something that worked for a bit. Again ... eventually it was just like, "psh, I'm not popping popcorn, forget it."

My back is killing me as a result. I've been bending over all day looking at the machine and trying to figure out how to get a more permanent solution. I called our repair guy and had him order a new part but that won't be around until Monday and so neither will he. Jeff yelled at me for having Ed wake him up. I stared at him and then proceeded to tell him that I did not call Ed and had tried to call him but his cell phone was off. He didn't say much after that but he talked on the cell phone a few times (because cell phone conversations always fix machines magically) and he bought some Home Depot parts that did little to fix the situation. Jerry rigging is just the way to go sometimes. My father said my grandfather would be proud of me if he heard about this ... he used to do this sort of thing all the time.

I finished my book ... now I just need to review it. I will not be doing that today, that's for sure. My back is sore, I need to lie down and sleep, it's been a long day at work ... argh. I even burned myself. Right now my one knuckle is a bit larger than the rest of my knuckles. It's in the "I'm going to blister and make a mess" phase. Not quite blistering but beyond the "wrinkling phase." Don't stare at me like you've never been burned before ... you know what I'm talking about. Alright, fine, maybe you don't but I know what I'm talking about.

The game plan is to get some cookies and then go to bed. Oh, speaking of cookies, my mother has begun her Christmas baking. She isn't making my two favorites this year though ... I almost died. OK, I didn't almost die but I was heartbroken. I told her she should think about making them and she said maybe after the party. That's fine by me ... more for me if the family doesn't eat them while they're over at the house, ya know? I know. Ok. Well in any case, I really really hope she makes the two I like otherwise it'll be a disappointing Christmas cookie season. She does have some new cookies that I'll have to try though. They sound interesting to say the least. They involve chocolate in many cases. They'll probably be good.

On that note, I'm off. Everyone who's upset, smile because tomorrow is another day and another chance for things to improve. Pessimists, yes I know tomorrow could be worse but not if I can help it.

Oh, one other side track ... I work tomorrow night now instead of morning. I know this may disappoint so many of you being that I'm the best manager ever :: coughs :: but John needs to watch his Eagles win another game and I am free all day so I have no real problem with the switch ... except I'll be up late and then have to get up in the morning. Small sacrifice to pay for John to watch football, right? ... night everyone.

You mentioned being of Italian extraction I believe. Perhaps you should writw an opera about a movie theater. I can see this Jeff guy singing a few brash lines over and over into a cell phone, while a hard working associate manager has to hide his disfigured knuckle behind a finger mask and oges to live in the basement, writing music for a lovely and talented girl at the refreshment counter.

Just in passing let me mention how monumentaly unfair the universe is since you can eat all those cookies and still stay slim. It just isn't right. Oh great, now I'm hungry.

Dude! I love Oftencold's idea. We should write an opera. That would be amazing and quite intersting at the same time.

Thanks for the help today. Still a bit confused, but eh, I'll get over it.
