My comments are based on that article I just read. Amending the Constitution to allow for someone, such as Schwarzznegger to become President. It's an interesting concept to say the least. This is an immigrant nation and we have more and more immigrants every year. The current suggestion is being naturalized for 20 years before being allowed to run (convenient since Arnold's 20th year was 2003). I'm not saying that Schwarzznegger is the best candidate for the job but I have talked to people from California and they think he is the best governor they've had since Reagan. Bold statement but he seems to be doing what he promised he would do. Could be because he's an actor, not a politician ... who knows. In any case, it'll be interesting to watch the development of this amendment and if it succeeds.

In other news, I am surprised by the state of "mourning" this country is going through after Bush won. I shouldn't say the whole country since over half of them voted for Bush. I think people have a misconception of what Bush is planning on doing. For one thing, he finally made a comment that he expects us to be out of Iraq within the next 4 years. I feel that is a promising statement. Secondly, people are concerned about the draft. Nixon removed the draft in 1973 and it has never been reinstated. Bush has said time and again that he has no interest in reinstating the draft. An interesting aside though is that two democrats were the ones pushing the bill through congress trying to get a draft. It was shot down naturally and it may have just been a smoke screen to scare people but in any case ... there will be no draft with President Bush in office. I'm confident of that statement. Furthermore, if there is a draft, I do not intend to dodge it. I believe in the War in Iraq and the War on Terrorism. I will be more than happy to go if I am called upon. That isn't my career choice, which is why I haven't actively joined the military but if I'm needed, I'll be ready (although nervous as well). I do not see where the enormous negative energy comes from for this election. Bush won and suddenly half the people I talk to want to move out of the country. Apparently people really dislike Bush. I guess I understand why John Titor said there would be a Civil War within the next 4 years of the Bush White House. No, I don't believe that John Titor is from the future but it is interesting on how divided the country is. Bush is not an idiot, he is from Texas and proper English is not a top priority down there but he is definitely smart. He knows what he is doing and he has reaffirmed in a conversation to Kerry and in his acceptance speech that he wishes to unite the country. I believe this is possible once we stabilize Iraq and our economy goes on an upswing (imo: already on its way). It's clear that not everyone sees this job loss that people are screaming about. The majority of Americans voted Bush because they believe he's taking the country in the right direction. I understand people are upset that their candidate did not win but acting like the world will now end is a bit melodramatic.

Anyway, that's my political "speech." I'm all done now because I don't like politics much. I support our President and hope you will at least respect him for his attempts at uniting the country and doing what he feels is right for our country.

In other news, I haven't studied for my test yet and it looks like that'll be happening at 3:30 when I get home from class and then at work tonight as well. No gym today ... I'll have to save that for tomorrow. Have a good day.
